WILLIAM MCKNIGHT, PRESIDENT
MCG is led by William McKnight. William functions as Strategist, Lead Enterprise Information Architect, and Program Manager for sites worldwide utilizing the disciplines of data warehousing, master data management, business intelligence and big data.
William is an Ernst&Young Southwest Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist, a frequent best practices judge, has published hundreds of articles and white papers and given hundreds of international keynotes and public seminars, including TEDx. His teams’ implementations from both IT and consultant positions have won Best Practices awards. William is a former award-winning IT VP of a Fortune 50 company, a former engineer of DB2 at IBM and holds an MBA.
He is author of the books “Integrating Hadoop” and “Information Management: Strategies for Gaining a Competitive Advantage with Data.”

DR. JAKE DOLEZAL, LEAD DATA ENGINEER
With over 25 years of experience in information management, Jake Dolezal serves as Lead Data Engineer at McKnight Consulting Group. Jake leads engineering efforts at MCG and serves as the technical authority across benchmarks, platform evaluations, industry research, technical white papers, and client delivery.
Within the firm’s benchmarking practice, Jake has architected, built, and tested data systems on more than 50 modern platforms and technology stacks, spanning relational databases, data warehouses, data lakes, NoSQL and graph databases, API-driven architectures, DevOps and SecOps pipelines, machine learning (MLOps), retrieval augmented generation, and AI enablement. His hands-on experience across platforms gives him a practical understanding of where specific technologies excel, where they break down, and how they fit into real-world architectures.
As an industry analyst, Jake has co-authored approximately 80 research and benchmarking reports with William McKnight, contributed to numerous white papers, and published a book. His work helps organizations make informed, defensible decisions around data platforms, architecture, and engineering strategy.
As a field consultant, Jake has led successful engagements for nearly 20 organizations ranging from Fortune 500 enterprises to small and mid-cap companies across multiple industries. His earlier work focused heavily on data warehousing, integration, analytics, governance, and master data management. In recent years, his work has expanded to include data engineering, data products and APIs, predictive and prescriptive analytics, retrieval augmented generation, and AI enablement initiatives.
Prior to joining MCG, Jake was Senior Director of Information Management at the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, the third-largest Native American tribe in the United States. There, he designed and led an enterprise-wide information management program supporting commercial, government, healthcare, social services, and education organizations, while also contributing to major CRM and ERP initiatives.
Jake earned his Doctorate in Information Management from Syracuse University, consistently ranked the #1 graduate school for information systems by U.S. News & World Report. He is known for strong client relationships, reliable delivery, and consistently meeting project objectives and timelines.
