WILLIAM MCKNIGHT, PRESIDENT

MCG is led by William McKnight. William functions as Strategist, Lead Enterprise Information Architect, and Program Manager for sites worldwide utilizing the disciplines of data warehousing, master data management, business intelligence and big data. Many of his clients have gone public with their success stories.

William is an Ernst&Young Southwest Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist, a frequent best practices judge, has published hundreds of articles and white papers and given hundreds of international keynotes and public seminars, including TEDx. His teams’ implementations from both IT and consultant positions have won Best Practices awards. William is a former award-winning IT VP of a Fortune 50 company, a former engineer of DB2 at IBM and holds an MBA.

He is author of the books “Integrating Hadoop” and “Information Management: Strategies for Gaining a Competitive Advantage with Data.

William is the #1 global influencer in big data, #1 in data center, #1 in cloud, #7 in analytics (Thinkers 360) and on the top list for master data management (Onalytica) in 2023.

His breadth of experience with information management includes internal product development (source code), IT development, management, analyst and consulting roles. He has produced dozens of analytic models in production worldwide.

William has been involved in information management his entire career. He has led numerous client successes over a 30+ year career in data, including many for companies in the Global 2000. His unparalleled exposure to the market infuses ideas into client programs.

William founded and grew McKnight Associates, Inc. during 1998-2005 to placement in the Inc. 500, the Dallas 100 (twice) and the Collin (county) 60. He sold the company to a public firm in 2005. He is author of the book “90 Days to Success in Consulting.”

DR. JAKE DOLEZAL, LEAD DATA ENGINEER

With over 25 years experience in the information management field, Jake is the Lead Data Engineer at McKnight Consulting Group. He serves as the technical engineering lead on benchmarks, industry analysis, research, technical white papers, and field consulting projects. Within the firm’s benchmarking practice, Jake has architected, built, and tested data systems and solutions on over 50 different modern platforms and stacks including relational databases, data warehouses, data lakes, NoSQL/graph databases, API management, DevOps, SecOps, machine learning (MLOps), and natural language processing APIs in the cloud, on-premise, hybrid cloud, and containerized.

As an industry analyst, he has co-authored with William McKnight over 60 research and benchmarking reports, contributed to numerous white papers, and published a book. As a field consultant, Jake has led successes with nearly 20 companies from Fortune 500 corporations to small and mid-cap companies in a variety of industry verticals.

Prior to joining MCG, Dr. Dolezal was the Senior Director of Information Management at the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma—the third largest Native American tribe in the United States with over 200,000 members worldwide. He championed and developed an enterprise-wide information management initiative from the ground up across the organization’s commercial, government, healthcare, social service and education divisions. He was also involved with the organization’s core CRM and ERP systems.

Jake earned his Doctorate in Information Management from Syracuse University—consistently the #1 ranked graduate school for information systems by U.S. News and World Report. He is also a Certified Business Intelligence Professional through TDWI with an emphasis in Data Analysis. In addition, he is a certified leadership coach and has helped clients accelerate their careers and earn several executive promotions.

Dr. Dolezal has a passion for teaching and learning as well.  He taught as a university lecturer in physics and computer information systems for over a decade and published several articles in publications like Information Management. He is also the author of the books “Integrating Hadoop“and “I Survived Stats: A Less Frustrating Approach To Help Students Survive and Pass a Statistics Course“.
